Brief Background information of suicide.
Suicide is death caused by injuring oneself with an intent to die. Suicide is the major leading cause of death and it’s a major public
health problem and it affects people of all ages and some groups have a higher suicide rate than others.
Suicide leaves a very strong negative impact and it’s the reason we are creating awareness and changing hope through action.
Roadmap
So in 2023, since am pursuing mental health advocacy with Threshold of Hope Africa and partner with them on creating awareness to the public and since September is my birth month, I usually come up with projects to do as a give back to the community and it’s as well as a month of World Suicide Prevention Day since the world celebrates every 10th September annually so I decided to use the day for creating awareness in Teso Sub-region, Soroti City as the place of my interest to advocate about mental health prevention.

I took action in this because;
– Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. This has affected how the youth, elderly and
vulnerable mothers think, feel and act.
– To help determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make healthy choices in life. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood
